Rev. Eileen nurtures the human spirit for a world made whole by preaching about our interconnection, encouraging us all to consider how we answer the call to justice, and by helping to sustain our collective spirits during times of joy and sorrow, struggle and strength.

Eileen was called as Senior Minister at the Unitarian Church of Evanston, IL, on January 24, 2021. Her ministry grew out of a call to usher people into a sense of belonging in our congregation and a passion for creating opportunities to engage in social justice collaboratively. She leads the pastoral care team in tending to the spiritual needs of the community, helps to celebrate life passages, and empower individual and collective efforts toward equity, compassion and sustainability. Her faith is rooted in the interconnection of all things. She believes that, together, we are called to create life’s meaning together. The purpose of religious community is to cultivate and expand the transforming and healing power of love in our world. Eileen graduated from Meadville Lombard Theological School in May 2017 and was ordained by this church on June 4, 2017. She also serves as a trustee on the Interfaith Action of Evanston board and as the chaplain for Meadville Lombard Theological School.

Rev. Eileen can be reached by email or through text at (224) 565-3952.

Pastoral support for students is available thanks to the John Young Fellowship

John Young, DMin ’71, established the John Young Fellowship with a generous gift to Meadville Lombard.

The gift:

  • Supports the school by bringing experienced Unitarian Universalist ministers to Meadville Lombard who can assist students in their practical understanding of ministry and their vocational formation;
  • Empowers the Fellows to share their most effective spiritual practices and ministerial insights with students; and
  • Provides UU ministers an opportunity to study at Meadville Lombard and to avail themselves of the school’s educational resources.

Currently, the fund is used to hire a chaplain to provide pastoral support to our students. Current students receive a message and contact information for the chaplain in This Week @ Meadville Lombard (the weekly bulletin) each month.
